Atletico Madrid Preview

Celtic play against Atletico Madrid in their 5th Europa league game tomorrow and both sides will be looking for a win.

This must win this game to really have a chance to qualify for the next round. Celtic are currently on a high after winning their last 5 games and haven't been beaten in their last ten.

Atletico Madrid aren't doing well at the moment as they sit 11th in the Spanish Liga, at the weekend they were beaten by Real Madrid 4-1. However they are currently on top of the group after beating Udinese 4-0 at home.

Atletico manager Gregorio Manzano said:
"The idea is to win, mathematically that would put us through. We want to secure our step through to the next phase. We want to get far in the tournament and to do that we need to take all the points. It's going to be a similar team compared to the one at the weekend."

Celtic have some things to look forward to, Madrid haven't won away from home in Europe in the league this season with 6 losses and 2 draws. Udinese lost 4-0 to Madrid in Spain but managed to beat them 2-0 in Italy, considering Celtic only lost 2-0 in Spain, I think we stand a good chance of getting three points.

Neil Lennon:
"It will be an open game and should be a good game because they are two very good football teams," he added. "We have to be wary of conceding early, as we have done in a few of the games in this group so far, so we have to try and get on the front foot from the start.

"We've grown in confidence as the tournament has gone on. Players like Anthony Stokes have really made their mark and we seem to have found a system to suit us. I'm delighted with the character we have shown recently. We got a real shot in the arm when we beat Rennes 3-1. We're taking this tournament very seriously and we have enjoyed the competition so far."

Celtic beat Rennes at home 3-1 after drawing with them away 1-1 and beat St Mirren 5-0 at home on Saturday. The team will be full of confidence and there is also a chance of Brown or Kelvin Wilson making a return. However I don't think Lennon will shake up the side from the weekend to much.
