24 posts in this topic

Leigh Griffiths and Jozo Simunovic return for Celtic against Inverness Caledonian Thistle after missing the Champions League draw at Borussia Monchengladbach.

Kolo Toure is still out with an abductor problem, as is Kieran Tierney after surgery on an ankle problem.

Inverness will be without the injured pair of Carl Tremarco and Aaron Doran for the trip to Celtic Park.

Owain Fon Williams, Billy King and Larnell Cole are all fit to play.

Alex Fisher may not be ready to return after a hamstring problem, while Ryan Esson and Kevin McNaughton are still sidelined.

Statistics

  • Celtic's only dropped points in 10 league games this season came in a 2-2 draw at Inverness
  • The champions have averaged over three goals a game in the Premiership, scoring 31 goals in 10 matches
  • Inverness have won only one of their last 14 league meetings with Celtic
  • The Highlanders are the second top scorers in the league alongside Hearts with 19 goals, but they have conceded 21

Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers: "There is no easy game. There are many reasons why, firstly, the opponent will always fight.

"A game against Celtic, whatever the levels the players are at, the opponent will always go up because they are playing against one of the big teams, which is natural. All the players up here will always fight for the result.

"Supporters will demand that so there have been no easy games as such. There are some very good coaches up here who work and study and analyse their teams to set up against you.

"Some of the scorelines have been down to some of the great play of our players and how hard they have worked.

Inverness Caledonian Thistle manager Richie Foran: "We've taken points off Celtic, pushed Rangers, drawn with Aberdeen and Hearts.

"We've shown before we can put in good performances against these top sides. There's no doubt in my mind we can do it again."

"Mistakes you make, they punish. You have to keep possession, press them high. If you stand off Celtic they'll cause you problems.

"So, yes, it's a challenge going to Parkhead but it is one to embrace and look forward to."
